Six down. Three to go. And seven days to go to party time.

With the signing of second round cornerback Sean Smith last week Thursday, the Miami Dolphins moved one rookie closer to their goal of having all nine draft choices on board by the time training camp starts on August 2.

Still waiting, but in no apparent hurry, are No 1 pick Vontae Davis, second round choice Wild Pat White, and, somewhat more surprisingly, fifth round selection safety Chris Clemons.

Here’s the complete list of rookie signing status to date:

    Round 1 Vontae Davis CB
    Round 2 Pat White QB
Sean Smith CB 4 Yrs $3.113 mil $1.363 mil guaranteed
Round 3 Patrick Turner WR 4 Yrs $2.460 mil $714,000 signing bonus
Round 4 Brian Hartline WR 4 Yrs $2.250 mil $500,000 signing bonus
    Round 5 Chris Clemons S
John Nalbone TE 4 Yrs $1.923 mil $172,550 signing bonus
Round 6 Andrew Gardner OT 4 Yrs $1.859 mil $109,775 signing bonus
    Round 7 J D Folsom LB 4 Yrs $1.812 mil $62,000 signing bonus

    Undrafted Rookies Signed:
      Jared Bronson TE
      Mark Lewis G
      Ryan Baker DE
      Orion Martin LB

Of the other AFC East teams, only the Jets have all their selections signed, but as they only had three, that’s not saying as much as it seems. The Patriots have 9 of 12 signed, but No 1 pick safety Patrick Chung is among the three remaining holdouts. In the division, the Bills are currently the slowest to get organized, with half of their rookies unsigned including their top four picks. However, that’s better than the Colts and the Saints, who still haven’t signed a single one of their draftees.

For the past two years the Dolphins have had all their rookies signed and out on the practice field by the end of the first week of training camp? Can they do it again?

I’m guessing that Bill, Jeff and Tony will be having their own little party if they do!
