As predicted by most writers (and they are the ones who make the selection anyway) Peyton Manning received his third MVP award with Miami's Chad Pennington placing second in the balloting.
If viewed from the perspective of judging the player who was the most valuable to their team, there is no doubt in most Dolfan minds that the wrong guy got the prize.
Clearly, Pennington who guided the 1-15 Dolphins to an AFC East Championship and an 11-5 record deserved the award more than anyone else in the NFL.
And judging by the reaction in the Dolphins locker room this is just another example of this Miami Dolphins team and its leader on the field being snubbed and disrespected.
I can't think of a sweeter scenario than the Dolphins making it to the AFC Championship game against the Colts so that Pennington can demonstrate on a national stage just why he deserved that award. Hey, he did it against Favre in Favre's house, why not against Manning?
Wishful thinking I know, but in this magical, miracle season, I think we are allowed to dream a little.
