View Full Version : Nightmare Scenario
This gives me the shivers, but it is very possible:
The Dolphins win their next two games at Tennessee and at home against Houston, while the Patriots lose either at Buffalo or at home against the Jaguars. The Phins are 9-6 and in control, primed to take the AFC East for a second straight season.
Then the Jets are creeping, also 9-6. They manage to get another undeserved win against Cincinnati after beating the Colts because both teams rested their starters due to locked in playoff seeds.
Then, the Dolphins lose to Pittsburgh in a meaningless game for the Steelers, and the effing Jets take the division.
However, that is a Dave Wannstedt scenario, and these are the Tony Sparano coached Dolphins who will WIN THE AFC EAST!
GO DOLPHINS!!!!!!

if you ask me, the phins best chance for making the playoffs is really to win the division. Baltimore has a cake schedule remaining and unless they trip up, we don't have a chance there. But...The pats still have to beat the Jags (at home but tough) and Houston (away). Not to mention Buffalo, but as much as I want it to, I just don't see it happening.
It is always good to fear the worst. I hope the Dolphins realize that this is still a possibility which would pump them up even more, especially Crowder and the defense!
It sucks that the Ravens and Pats both have easy schedules. Let's hope Pittsburgh can beat Green Bay this week in order to have something to play for against Baltimore in 2 weeks at home (but then we would have to beat them on a two game win streak).
SO many scenarios, I love when we're in the hunt!!!!!

Basically it's all completely up in the air because on any given Sunday, etc, etc. However, I believe that the Bills will beat New England and we will win out. The Miami Dolphins are a tough, no nonsense team who have battled all season against the best in the league. They can do it.

MM, I think it is interesting that you say Go Saints. I am expecting more poeple to cheer for Manning and the Colts, but I think NO has the better offense and will probably win the SB.

i think its a toss-up, but would love the saints to win it and especially dave wanstedt to sit there and wonder if he might still have a job in miami if he had picked up breese instead of culpepper. think about it. we still had a great D back then and he would have helped to solidify the O if they had brought him in a couple more good lineman...

But if I remember right we had a weak line in those days and Wandstache paid no attention to it. Brees would have had a couple of years of getting battered around, but if he'd been able to survive that and Wandstache had seen the O line light, you're right, he might still be here.
The decision to bring in Culpepper and not Brees was Saban's, not Wanny.
I'm rooting for Peyton, my favorite NFL player. Go Colts!!

fine then. just another reason to hate saban...
That was Saban's biggest mistake. He might still be our coach had he taken Brees and not Culpepper!!!
