New owner Stephen Ross has said he wants to have a bigger fan experience - starting with the deal with Jimmy Buffet. He's made the statement that he wants to make the games "an event."

My question to all of you is - What do you think of that?

A couple of thoughts:
* what is the fan experience like for you today?
* what would you change to make it better?
* should it be all about football (and screw the other nonsense!)?
* and finally, what's your favorite game day experience / ritual / habit?

It's OK, but maybe try to fit in more entertainment before the game. Possibly having a troupe of orangatans suited up in the opponents uniforms parachuting into the tailgate area might be fun.

Also we might consider using the alumni and make them even more available for autographs and just to interact with the fans. Maybe some competitions for the kids, e.g. passing organized by Garo Yepremium, or running and catching, etc., would be fun.

How about competitions to see how many opposing fans can be sprayed with aqua and orange paint , with double points if it's a Jets fan?

I don't think that it should be totally all about the football experience, but it hurts me to see so many fans disappear at half time because they are at the concession stand or in the Club area, or throwing up in the Gentlemen's toilet.

Maybe we close the concessions five minutes before the game is due to restart, with armed guard security protection for the beer stands?

My favorite game day experience? Seeing the Dolphins win! That kind of trumps all the marketing concepts anyone could ever think up, and would keep me coming back for more. Just leave Bill Parcells to do his job, and the marketing & sales brass can save a whole lot of time and money.

I totally agree. If our attendance is down it is because we have been in a long term slump. Winning is what is going to fill the stands.

I don't mind this stuff a little, but as I wrote in a different post, I hope this corporate hype doesn't make each game into something like a Dolphins circus.
