I just got back home from travelling, and I've got to say this draft has me somewhat underwhelmed so far. Both first two picks are a stretch, totally different from last year's approach.
Vontae Davis with the No 1 pick is an odd one for me considering the character issues associated with this guy. Doesn't seem like a Parcells pick to me. And Pat White as the next pick? Too small to be an NFL QB and a project at WR. I guess this confirms that the Dolphins will still be running the Wildcat this season! I have to admit that I was expecting a defensive end or a linebacker. Just goes to show what I don't know!

OooooooooH! Sean Smith! Traded down and picked up a very interesting, TALL, corner at No 61. I LOVE this pick. Now we're starting to make the toes tingle a little.

I kinda like the pick of White, a QB that can run, and posible WR, Sounds like the WIldcat will be abit more dangerous, and alot of fun to watch

i was hoping we would pick pat white just for the wildcat. remember last year they told us we haven't even seen the beginning of everything they have drawn up out of the wilcat formation. now just imagine running it with someone like pat white, either in the same place as ronnie or in the QB position. they will have to respect him out on the edge, where they could basically ignore pennington when he split out there.
if they have white run the play, then ricky or ronnie will be split out and then it is even more dangerous with a guy who can run and be an extremely dangerous passer. he has run the option all his college career, which if you ask me, puts him a step ahead of many qb's coming out of college simply because he is accustomed to making reads pre-snap and as the running play develops. I am REALLY excited about having him. he can move in the open field and if nothing else could develop into really good reciever.
Davis and Smith could come in and make an instant impact on D. Smith, as we all have read, it a bit unpolished and not a very good tackler, but hasn't even played 2 full seasons at the position. he is big, athletic and has shown, by virtue of changing positions 3 times in college, that he is a fast learner and can adapt to change. We'll just have to hope Davis has a better pro-career than his big brother.
I like our two (unless white turns into a WR, then 3) WR pics to. turner and hartline are good sized, especially turner. he could be a huge target if he develops his route running ability. what i like best about these guys is that they come from winning programs. we all know that part of changing the culture of losing is getting rid of chronic losers and bringing in veterans i.e. Chad Pennington that have won and expect to win. althouh turner and hartline haven't proven themselves in the NFL level, they played at programs that EXPECTED to win every game and that attitude should carry over and be a positive influence in the locker room even if they are rooks.
