| Game Notes |
The Miami Dolphins have high hopes entering the second half of the season. At 4-4, the Dolphins are in prime position to make a run at the playoffs and even the division title. The Dolphins second half schedule is the easiest second half in the NFL with a combined opponent winning percentage of .375.
Wide Receiver Greg Camarillo is coming off the 8th start of his career in which he caught a career high 11 passes for 111 yards last week at Denver. Camarillo and fellow starter Ted Ginn Jr. are beginning to look like a nice receiving tandem after starting the season with a lot of question marks. A lot of their success is due to the play of veteran QB Chad Pennington. Pennington has thrown for 1,991 yards and 7 TDs on the season with a completion percentage of 67.4 and a QB rating of 95.2.
The Seattle Seahawks bring in a floundering 2-6 team that has been mired by injuries in the first half. One of the biggest injuries is to Pro Bowl QB Matt Hasselbeck who will not start against the Dolphins on Sunday.
On paper, the Dolphins should win this game handily. The Seahawks, on top of their injury list, have to make the longest journey in the NFL from Seattle to South Florida and start a game at 10:00 AM pacific coast time. In the NFL this season, West Coast teams who have traveled 3 time zones to the coast are 0-10. However, the Dolphins are coming off 2 straight wins against division leaders Buffalo and Denver. The last game after a 2-game win streak this season resulted in a 27-13 loss at home to the Baltimore Ravens.
It will be very important that the Dolphins treat the Seahawks like any other team they have beat this season, and not the 2-6 team they are on paper. The Defense, coming off two excellent games will be a huge factor in stopping Seattle's run game which averages a solid 4.3 yards per carry. They will also have to pay close attention to backup QB Seneca Wallace (making his 4th straight start) who has a tendancy to make big plays when he gets outside the pocket.
