Can HBO feature the Dolphins every year? It is a real treat to be able to gain inside access into your favorite team’s locker room and most private discussions. HBO does an amazing job with the videography and storylines. If the Miami Dolphins and the NFL really want to sell more tickets and improve the experience, something like this should be featured online exclusively for season ticket holders every season.
Tonight I’ll be looking for topics focusing on the wide receiver competition, how the coaching staff decided to make Ryan Tannehill the starting quarterback, a continuation of the Chris Hogan 7-11 feature and what the coaches think of him, what players really stood out to coaches against the Carolina Panthers, and more on Reggie Bush. I’m surprised they haven’t featured Reggie Bush more in the first two episodes considering his reality TV history and nation-wide appeal to both football and non-football fans. It’d be interesting to see a segment on his preparation, workouts, and film study. Of the storylines I listed above, Chris Hogan intrigues me the most. I’m still amazed that he isn’t higher on the
depth chart by now considering how well he runs routes and the lack of competition for the job. He’s the kind of smart receiver you need on the field in tough situations like 3rd downs and late in games. Having him and Davone Bess on the field at the same time might actually break some holes the opposing secondary. We’ll see how he progresses though. What storylines are you hoping to see highlighted in tonight’s episode?
Still think Jeff Ireland should be fired?
Jeff Ireland might have been the most unpopular man in the NFL, if not all of professional sports in February and March. After failing to land coveted free agent star Peyton Manning, Ireland decided to forego giving Matt Flynn the money he desired. Well, that decision is looking a lot smarter today after Russell Wilson was named the starter for the Seattle Seahawks third (dress rehearsal) pre-season game.
According to ESPN, with a strong start Wilson could be named the 2012 week 1 starter in Seattle. Ireland has made many non-moves in his time with the Dolphins that are overlooked and taken for granted, and this might be another one of them.
